On October 20, 1971 Calvin Cordozar Broadus, Jr, better known by his stage name Snoop Dogg was born (other stage names include Snoop Doggy Dogg, and more recently Snoop Lion). Snoop Dogg is an American rapper and actor who started his career after he was discovered by hip-hop rapper and producer Dr. Dre. He first achieved public exposure when he collaborated with Dr Dre. on Dr. Dre’s debut album, “The Chronic.”

In 1993, Snoop Dogg released his debut album through Death Row Records titled “Doggystyle.” The album itself debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart. That album itself was certified four times platinum. His second album, 1996’s “Tha Doggfather” also debuted on top of the Billboard 200 chart, while being certified two times platinum. Sometime later, Snoop Dogg left Deathrow Records; and then signed with No Limit Records, EMI/Capitol Records, and Geffen Records, to where he released a couple of more albums through each of those labels.

During his free time he coaches a youth football league, as well as a high school team. After a trip to Jamaica in 2012, he announced his conversion to the Rastafari movement, as well as the debut of a new alias, Snoop Lion.

He is currently working on a new rap album under his stage name, Snoop Dogg. Snoop Dogg has sold over 30 million records worldwide.
