On May 3, 1996 the supernatural film, “The Craft” was released. The filmed starred Robin Tunney, Fairuza Balk, Neve Campbell, Rachel True, and Skeet Ulrich.
The film focuses on four teenage girls who practice witchcraft for their own individual personal gain, leading to disastrous results for some of the girls. “The Craft” is often considered a sleeper hit. “The Craft” wasn’t a “big box office hit” per se in terms achieving global box office numbers, but it did manage to make back its budget plus a profit (therefore becoming a success), and show longevity during its release period. On a budget of around $15 million, it grossed over $55 million worldwide. Ever since its release, it has gained a cult following, with the film constantly being shown during the month of October in the spirit of Halloween.
