The actor’s career spans over 40 years, appearing in such noted films as 1989’s “Glory,” 1992’s “Malcom X,” 1993’s “Philadelphia” and “The Pelican Brief,” 1999’s “The Hurricane,” 2000’s “Remember the Titans,” 2001’s “Training Day,” 2007’s “American Gangster,” and 2012’s “Flight.” Aside from film, he has appeared in theater, most notably playing Marcus Brutus in the play “Julius Caesar,” winning a Tony Award for 2010’s “Fences,” and most recently in 2014 appearing in “A Raisin in the Sun.”

Throughout his career, Washington has won two Golden Globes, a Tony Award, as well as two Academy Awards.
