On May 22, 1970 supermodel Naomi Campbell was born. She is often regarded as one of the world’s most successful models of all time, being one of the most in-demand models in the 1980s and 1990s, and stayed in the public eye during the 2000s for her various fashion appearances (i.e. Victoria’s Secret), as well as legal issues.
Besides being known for her fashion career, Campbell has a reputation for her temper. Within a 10 year span, from 1998 – 2008, she faced over ten assault accusations. Her assault accusations have been made against her by employees, colleagues, as well as police officers. In 2007, she was famously accused for assaulting her housekeeper with her BlackBerry, and was sentenced to five days of community service in New York. She infamously showed up to do her community service wearing designer outfits, and wearing a Dolce & Gabbana gown during her last day.
She can currently be seen on the modeling competition reality show “The Face,” which is shown on the cable network Oxygen, as well as in its international versions.
