On September 8 Pink was born…

On September 8, 1979 Alecia Moore, better know as Pink, was born.

The singer, whose debut album “Can’t Take Me Home” was released in 2000, has sold over 40 million records worldwide, as well as won three Grammy Awards. Some of her most notable hit singles include her collaborative effort on the 2001 remake of “Lady Marmalade” alongside Christina Aguilera, Lil’ Kim, and Mya; “There You Go;” “Get the Party Started;” “So What;” and “Just Give Me a Reason.”

“Lady Marmalade,” the lead single from the 2001 film “Moulin Rouge!” gave Pink her first number-one single, as well as first Grammy Award.
