On October 22, 1966 The Supremes became the first all-female group to have a number-one album when “The Supremes A’ Go-Go” topped the Billboard 200 album chart.

The album replaced The Beatles’ album, “Revolver,” and remained on the Billboard 200 album chart for 60 weeks. The album ultimately went on to sale 3.5 million copies worldwide.
