Her career breakthrough occurred when she starred in Tim Burton’s 1988 cult classic, “Beetlejuice,” playing the goth teenage Lydia Deetz. Soon later, Ryder attained critical and commercial success by starring in the cult classic “Heathers” in 1988, Tim Burton’s “Edward Scissorhands” in 1990, as well as Francis For Coopola’s “Bram Stoker’s Dracula” in 1992.

Throughout the late 90s, she continued her film success by starring in “Little Women,” “The Age of Innocence,” and “Girl, Interrupted,” as well as garnering a Golden Globe and two Academy Award nominations. After a brief hiatus, Ryder returned to the screen by appearing in high-profile films such as “Star Trek” and “Black Swan” in 2006 and 2010, respectfully.
