On December 9, 1968 former Olympic gold medalist turned professional wrestler Kurt Angle was born. He is known for his time at World Wrestling Federation, aka WWF (now known as World Wrestling Entertainment, aka WWE), and for his time at Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA).
Angle comes from an extensive wrestling background, from being a two-time National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I champion, to eventually winning a gold medal in heavyweight freestyle wrestling at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia.
During his time in WWF/WWE, he became a six-time world champion, won the King of the Ring tournament, while main eventing many pay-per-view specials. In TNA he became a five-time TNA World Heavyweight Champion. Angle is the only wrestler in wrestling history to have become a triple-crown wrestler, winning the heavy championship in WCW, WWF/WWE, and TNA.
