On April 24, 2009 “Obsessed” was released, starring Beyonce, Idris Elba, and Ali Larter.
The thriller focused on the obsession of an office temp (played by Larter) on her boss (played by Elba); while the boss’ wife (played by Beyonce) begins to notice the temp’s obsessive behavior, leading to a showdown between the two. The film has often been compared to the classic 1987 film, “Fatal Attraction,” which starred Michael Douglas and Glenn Close. The fight scene between Beyonce and Larter was praised, with it winning the 2010 MTV Movie Award for Best Fight. While the film wasn’t favorably received by critics, it was commercially successful, grossing close to $75 million worldwide on a budget of $20 million.
