The actress is best known for her extensive television and film career, most notably for playing the role of overly eccentric Phoebe Buffay (and her twin Ursula Buffay) on the television show “Friends” for 10 seasons.

For the role of Phoebe Buffay, Kudrow won an Emmy Award, Satellite Award, and American Comedy Award, as well as two Screen Actors Guild Awards. Besides her role on “Friends,” she is known for starring in the HBO series, “The Comeback,” currently starring in the Showtime comedy, “Web Therapy” (which is in its third season), while serving as an executive producer for the NBC reality program, “Who Do You Think You Are.”

While she is often known for playing aloof characters, she is a graduate of Vassar College, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She assisted her father’s staff for eight years, researching headaches, and even earning a research credit in a study relating to cluster headaches.

Random Pop Culture Fact: Lisa Kudrow was the first actor from “Friends” to win an Emmy Award. She won the 1998 Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.
