The sitcom focused on a group of six friends living in Manhattan, often hanging out in a coffee shop called Central Perk. It starred David SchwimmerJennifer AnistonCourteney CoxMatthew PerryMatt LeBlanc and Lisa Kudrow as Ross Gellar, Rachel Green, Monica Gellar, Chandler Bing, JoeyTribbiani, and Phoebe Buffay, respectively, lasted 10 seasons. It is often regarded as one of the greatest television shows of all times, with TV Guide, Empire Magazine, and Writers Guild of America listing the sitcom in their respective lists of greatest television shows of all time, to name a few.

“Friends” has become a stable in pop culture history, from Jennifer Aniston’s hairstyle dubbed “The Rachel,” to Joey’s pick up line, “How you doin’?” becoming part of the lexicon of today’s culture. Throughout its run, the series garnered various accolades, including but not limited to Emmy awards, an American Comedy Award, a Golden Globe, and one Screen Actors Guild. Rating wise, the show constantly finished within the top five every year, making it one of the highest rated sitcoms of all time, with its series finale garnering 52.5 million viewers, making it the fourth highest series finale of all time.

Random Pop Culture Fact: The title of every episode of “Friends” begins with “The One with,” with the only exception being the series finale, aptly titled, “The Last One.”
