On October 1, 1953 “Playboy” was founded by Hugh Hefner, with the first Playboy magazine published in December of 1953.
The magazine, which features photographs of nude women (from models to celebrities) as well as various journalism articles, was founded in Chicago by Hugh Hefner after receiving a $1,000 loan from his mother. It is noted for its Playboy Playmates, a model representing a specific month, which ultimately would lead to a Playmate of the Year. In addition, the magazine features interviews from prominent directors, actors, politicians, and the likes.
The first magazine was released December of 1953, featuring Marilyn Monroe on the cover.
