On November 22 “Toy Story” was released…

Today on November 22, 1995 “Toy Story” was released. “Toy Story” was the first feature-length, computer-animated film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures.

The film is a buddy film that depicts the relationships between toys, as well as that of humans and toys. The film focuses on Woody, a pull-strip cowboy voiced by Tom Hanks, and Buzz Lightyear, an astronaut action figure voiced by Tim Allen. The movie also features Don Rickles, Jim Varney, Wallace Shawn, John Ratzenberger, and Annie Potts as Mr. Potato Head, Slinky Dog, Rex the Tyrannosaurus Rex, Hamm the piggy bank, and Bo Peep.

The film grossed over $360 million worldwide, and often is considered one, if not, the greatest animated film of all time. It spawned two sequels, 1999’s “Toy Story 2,” and 2010’s “Toy Story 3.”
