On January 31, 1981 Justin Timberlake was born. Throughout his career he has ventured into music, producing, philanthropy, fashion, as well as acting.
As a young child, Timberlake, alongside fellow pop superstars Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears, and actors Ryan Gosling and Keri Russell, starred in the 90’s revival of the Mickey Mouse Club, “The New Mickey Mouse Club.”
Soon afterward, he gained prominence being the lead singer of the boy band, ‘N Sync, one of the most successful boy bands in music history. The group’s album, “No Strings Attached,” released in 2000, had first-week sales of 2.4 million copies, setting a record for the most albums sold in one week (a record still held today). He was part of ‘N Sync from 1995-2002, in which the boy band sold over 50 million records during their run.
After ‘N Sync’s break up, Timberlake ventured into a solo career, trying to shed his teen pop image, which was seen through the release of his first solo album, 2002’s “Justified.” To help promote the album he teamed up with Christina Aguilera, who she herself was in a similar career path in shedding her teen pop image with the release of 2002’s “Stripped,” and both toured together on the “Justified and Stripped Tour.”
Justin Timberlake’s debut single, 2002’s “Like I Love You”:
He followed up his solo album with three more albums, achieving a few number-one singles in the process.
Besides music, he’s ventured into acting by being part of various movies of different genres such as “Alpha Dog,” “The Social Network,” “Bad Teacher,” and “Friends with Benefits.” And in 2006 he co-founded the fashion line William Rast.
In 2012 he married actress Jessica Biel and has one son with her, and throughout his career he’s won nine Grammy Awards and four Emmy Awards.
