On June 2, 1968 Andy Cohen was born. He is best known for his role as Vice President of Original Programming / Head of Development for the cable network Bravo (owned by NBCUniversal) as well for his night-time series, “Watch What Happens: Live” on Bravo.
“Watch What Happens: Live” is a pop culture-oriented talk show, in which Cohen often features and interviews Bravolebrities (stars of Bravo shows), as well as various high profile celebrities (e.g. Oprah, Mariah Carey, Cher). Besides his night-time show, as well as his position in Bravo, Andy Cohen, among other shows (such as “Top Chef’), is the man responsible for the cultural phenomenon known as “The Real Housewives,” which he serves as executive producer since their premiere in 2007 (the first of the franchise being “The Real Housewives of Orange County).
Throughout his career, Cohen has received various honors, such as an Emmy Award in 2010 for being the executive producer for “Top Chef,” as well as listed as one of the most influential people in television by TV Guide in 2010.
