July 27, 2007 Nicole Richie is sentenced to jail for four days for her December 11, 2006 DUI arrest. She only served 82 minutes due to overcrowding.
She was arrested on December 11 for reportedly driving on the wrong side of the freeway, entering State Route 134 in the Burbank/Glendale area in California though the exit. After being pulled over, she admitted to cops that she had used marijuana, as well as the narcotic Vicodin. As a result, she was sentenced to four days in jail in the Century Regional Detention Center in Lynwood, California. As mentioned, due to overcrowding, she was released within 82 minutes, and then enrolled (as requested by the California Supreme Court) in an 18-month anti-drinking driver education program.
