On July 31, 1992 “Death Becomes Her” was released. The dark fantasy comedy film starred Academy Award winners Meryl Streep and Goldie Hawn, alongside Bruce Willis and Isabella Rossellini, and directed by Robert Zemeckis (best known at the time for directing “Back to the Future” and the Academy Award-winning “Who Framed Roger Rabbit,” and went on to win the 1994 Best Director Academy Award for “Forest Gump.”).
The film focuses on a pair of rivals, Madeline Ashton (Streep) and Helen Sharp (Hawn), who encounter a mysterious woman named Lisle (Rossellini) who gives them a portion that promises them eternal life and ever-lasting youth, rendering them essentially immortal.

While the film received mixed reviews during its release, it was a commercial success, attaining cult status. With a budget of $55 million, the film grossed close to $150 million worldwide. Furthermore, the film won an Academy Award and BAFTA Award for Best Visual Effects.
